Hi, I’m Tom.

I’m building tools for data science & programming at Observable.

From 2009 to 2017, I helped build Mapbox, a company that makes mapping software. I played in a band that released three albums, rallied for open laws and succeeded, wrote code for understanding and interacting with statistics, sleep, the earth, open data, manners, music, and a bunch of other stuff.

For a while, I was involved in the d3 community and the OpenStreetMap community: I was a lead developer on the editor you probably use if you edit OpenStreetMap. I made and Mapbox Studio, and helped with Mapbox GL JS and a lot of other stuff.

To keep updated with my work, follow me on Twitter or GitHub or subscribe to this blog with RSS or Feedly.
